Mood, Anxiety, & Personality Disorders
Mood & Anxiety Disorders
I provide counseling to individuals who may be struggling with mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorders. My goal is to provide the support and guidance needed to help individuals gain the understanding and skills to cope with their disorder.
What are Personality Disorders?
Personality disorders are mental health conditions that are characterized by inflexible and enduring patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving. These patterns can lead to significant distress and difficulty in relationships, work, school, and other areas of life.
How Does Treatment Work?
While our personalities and moods are, in part, due to genetics, our personalities and moods are also shaped by our environments and life experiences. I believe that mood and/or personality traits that currently interfere in your life were likely helpful and adaptive at a past time. I will help you identify what is and is not working for you now, and will support you in adapting your personality and mood style and structure to your life today, bringing you out of the past and into your present.
Specialized Services and Interventions
I am intensively trained in dialectical behavior therapy, the gold standard for the treatment of borderline personality disorder and recommended for additional personality disorder types and styles, mood disorders, and anxiety disorders.
Through evidence-based practices and modalities, I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where individuals can explore and identify their triggers and develop the skills necessary for lasting change. I am dedicated to helping you achieve optimal mental health and wellness through psychotherapy, medication management when indicated, and lifestyle changes. I offer a range of services to address the unique needs of each person, so that you can find the relief and stability needed to lead a healthy and fulfilling life.
